Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has announced that the UAE Pavilion, originally designed by Lord Norman Foster's firm for the World Expo 2010, will host the UAE capital's acclaimed art event, Abu Dhabi Art, from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th of November 2011 on Saadiyat Island.

Abu Dhabi Art is an international platform for modern and contemporary art. In addition to world class art, visitors to the fair can also enjoy an exciting series of exhibitions, talks, performances, workshops and VIP networking events.

Abu Dhabi Art attracted over 17,000 visitors in 2010 and in 2011 will showcase around 50 international galleries again operating as a boutique-style fair.

The UAE Pavilion, inspired by the desert dunes of the Emirates, showcased exhibitions about the history of the UAE in Shanghai at the World Expo 2010 and attracted almost 2 million visitors. It was designed by Foster + Partners, one of the world's top architectural firms.

The UAE Pavilion will be located in the grounds of Manarat Al Saadiyat, Saadiyat's purpose-built exhibition centre. The pavilion has already won prestigious awards and is currently the only national pavilion to be relocated and reconstructed for future use.
