Fundación Botín, a Spanish institution created in 1964, launches a call for the Visual Arts Grants and the Art Workshop to be directed by Lothar Baumgarten. The call is international in both cases. INTERNATIONAL VISUAL ARTS GRANTS. 20th CALL 2012–2013
These are for study, research and the undertaking of individual projects in the sphere of (non-theoretical) artistic work.
The call is open to individuals of any nationality with the single requirement of being between the ages of 23–40 for the study grants.
The exhibition agenda of the Fundación Botín will include an exhibition, which premieres the works realized by the artists during the period covered by the grant. The deadline for submitting applications is May 11, 2012

LOTHAR BAUMGARTEN WORKSHOP
It will be held between July 2nd and 13th 2012, at the Villa Iris space, in the coastal city of Santander, in northern Spain.
The workshop will develop a photographic, filmic or audio concept for observation in an urban context. The aim is to create a portrait, a momentum through reflection and consciousness on a site; and research about a common subject and conflict.
Lothar Baumgarten will select a maximum of 15 alumni and the workshop will be conducted in English.
The deadline for submitting applications is May 18, 2012.
